Relevant started performing covering duties as late as 2000. Relevant’s success’ in dressage is highly impressive and include winner of the CDI Aachen 1998 and winner of the Nürnberg Burgpokal 1998, best stallion in Swolle 2001, VTV Dressage Stallion of the Year award 2001 & 2002, team silver medal and 5th place individually at the 2002 World Championships in Jerez (Lisa Wilcox), winner of the 2002 German Masters in Stuttgart, best dressage stallion according to the 2002 BCM World Breeding Ranking, 82.65% in the Grand Prix free-style at the World Championships in Jerez 2002, 2nd place at the CHIO in Aachen in the CDIO final results 2003, silver in the 2003 open European Championships at Hickstead, ranked 3rd 2003 among the most successful horses in Germany with euro 61,875€ in prizes that year, team bronze medal at the Olympic Games in Athens 2004. Lifetime earnings as of December 31, 2004 = euro 162,147. He is being trained by Jo Hinnemann as from 2005 and is still competing (Marlies van Baalen).
Relevant was bred from what must surely be the most significant dressage dynasty in the world. Relevant’s sire Rubinstein was vice champion at his 100 days performance test in Medingen., he was the winner of the 1990 Optimum of Westphalian Riding Horses in Munster and he became the same year the I-a main premium winner in Oldenburg. In 1992, Rubinstein was the federal vice-champion 6 year old dressage horses in Verden.
Relevant’s damsire, the grey stallion Goldloewe, was one of the last approved sons of the siring legend Gotthard. Goldloewe won his stallion performance test at Adelheidsdorf and went to the Kathmann stallion station in Holtrup for some years before going to Sweden.
Rubinstein’s damsire Angelo xx was one of the most successful Westphalian sires also being the highest winning throroughbred stallion of all German warmblod breeds. His sons include Ahlerich (Dr. R.Klimpke) 3 Olympic golds, 2 World Championship & 4 European Championship golds. Angelo xx and his full brother Amon xx (Olympic dressage for Holland) are full brothers of Rubinstein’s dam Antine. Antine also produced Rubinstein II. Adone (also by Angelo xx) is another daughter of Rubinstein’s grandam Dodona. Adone produced the GP Special dressage ace Ramon 64 as well as Royal Angelo I & II and Rembrandt (Nicole Uphoff) an Olympic, World and European Champion winner.
