Pik Bube(314600373) 1973-1991

(Pik Koenig B Frustra II Domspatz)

Hannoverian dark bay stallion, 17hh (172cm)

Pik Bube I was 2nd in 100-day test at Adelheidsdorf. Otto Schulte-Frohlinde acquired Pik Bube I at Gronwoldhof in the 1970s as a foundation sire and Pik Bube I he transformed Gronwoldhof to a pilgrimage centre for breeders. The powerful paces of this dark tan stallion matured to a dressage horse par excellence under Herbert Rebhein winning 11 of the 12 advanced dressage test competitions he competed in. As he was in such a great demand at stud, there was almost no chance to continue his career in dressage.

Pik Bube I stems from the 1st foal age class of Pik Koenig whilst his dam Franka, a daughter of Frustra II who took a special position as an exceptionally important and productive damsire. Stallions such as Donkosak, Drosselklang I & II, Goldfalk, Graphit, Gralsritter, Imperial, Loewenstein, Piaff, Wachmann I & II, Webefunk, etc were all out of Fustra II dams.

A book will be needed to cover the Breeding record of this stallion. As a sire Pik Bube I transmitted himself extremely diversely with great performers in all disciplines and his offspring have the brands of all breeding associations in Germany. His stallion sons are stationed in all warm blood breeds today and enjoy huge popularity. Next to no other stallion has influenced contemporary German dressage horse competition sport and breeding as enduringly as the dam-sire Donnerhall. Pik Bube has numerous licensed sons including Pik Noir, Paquirri, Pik Solo, Playboy, Pik Ramiro, Pikedero, Pommery, Pik Senior, Plaisir d'Amour, Piaster, etc (Pascal in the UK).

Pik Bube I was the best son of Pik As xx (2nd generation) and is regarded as one of the most distinguished sons of the proven sire Weltmeister. Pik As xx, and Der Loewe xx (see below), are considered to be two of the top thoroughbred Sires of the Century for the German Warmblood. In the 3rd generation, there is the Celle state stallion Winghuk, who left (among many others) Weingart (Isabelle Werth) one of the most successful German dressage horses of the 1980's. Winghuk won his stallion performance test and was the last male descendant of the Futurist-line.
