Donnerhall (311812177) 1981-2001
(Donnerwetter R Markus - Carnot)
Oldenburg liver chestnut stallion, 172cm)
(Additionally approved by Hannover plus 11 other breeding societies)
Donnerhall was 2nd in his 100-day test at Adelheidsdorf, average score 9.5 in dressage and rideability. He was considered to be the most successful dressage stallion in the world. His rider was Karin Rehbein. He was DLG Champion (Champion of all German stallions) in Hanover 1986, Champion of Germany 1994, team World Champion and individual bronze medal winner in The Hague, achieved team gold and individual bronze at the European Dressage Championships 1997, team gold and individual 4th place at the World Championships in Rome 1998. Donnerhall won the World Cup European League and was the Oldenburg dressage stallion of the year in 1997 & 1998. All this was achieved whilst he performed his stud duties. He retired from competitions at the end of 1998. Donnerhall died in his box in 2001.
A separate book would be needed to cover his breeding record as Donnerhall's sons and daughters have too many honours to mention including Davignon (the Federal German Riding Horse Champion of 1992), Primavera (Champion mare and riding horse, both of Oldenburg 1992), Hallo (winner of the Elite Mare Show in Rastede 1994), Deutsche Einheit (2nd in the Federal Championships in Verden) and the top-priced auction lot in Germany 1992 DM 420.000, Duntroon (won the Stallion Performance Test in Adelheidsdorf 1994), Donatello (Germany's highest priced auction horse 1996), Deinhard (the most expensive auction foal in Germany 1998), Diamond Dream (new all-time price record at Verden Elite Auction in 1999 of DM 600,000), Del Piero (Bundeschampion 4 year old dressage horse 1999), etc.
Donnerhall has numerous licensed sons including Davignon, Don Primero, Donnerschlag, Duntroon, De Niro, Donatelli, Donnerschwee, Del Piero, Don Bosco, Donnerschall, Dream of Glory, etc (Donnersohn in the UK) and for years, he was for a long time at the very top of the German FN breeding value rating for dressage.
Donnerhall's father Donnerwetter often won dressage Grand Prix events with Herbert & Karin Rehbein and was sold 1990 to USA. His approved 'renown' sons are Donnerkiel, Dobrock, Don Wienero L, etc. His dam Ninette produced a number of successful competition horses. Her daughter Noblesse (by Pike Bube) together with Caprillio presented the premium stallion Certus.
